Charred refrains swim through static, encrusted with fizzing noise and feedback. Mournful loops build among the ash, never quite reaching a crescendo, but pushing up at the surface of the noise, crackling with sounds generated from their own imperfections, and growing in complexity as well as scale with each repeat.
In a similar way to Butlerβs previous release, Total Wipeout is the soundtrack to something desolate, in this case, post-apocalyptic. The churning sounds of blasted landscapes or personal catastrophe, or both.
