Super excited when I came across this record. There is really a lot to love. Sonically, Trauma Bond is constantly pushing you to the edge of your seat but always has you in control. This is grind in one of its best forms.
After an ominous intro draws you in and ramps up the tension Trauma Bond erupt from the speakers and proceed to sandblast you into oblivion in just under twenty minutes. A furious onslaught of razor-sharp, disorienting grind; that darts from blasting intensity, to dirge, to industrial noise, and back again before you’ve realised what you’ve been hit by.
A commanding and varied vocal presence, ranging from shrieks and howls to depth charge gutturals and commanding shouts runs through blistering guitar and drum work and electronic noise, twisting and turning and while occasionally dropping tempo, providing little in the way of respite and taking on more of a landslide quality. The Violence Of Spring takes on all the pummelling aggression of power violence, grindcore, and noise and merges it into a snarling cathartic hybrid.
