With guitar at its core, and resonant strings contributing to its title; Lines Of Metal is twelve tracks of melancholic, tranquil sound. At times almost aeolian, notes float weightlessly through hazy soundscapes of manipulated field recordings and time stretched textures. Swells of reverberation ripple outward from looped phrases as they float above calm ghostly ambience.

Drawing influence from skies drawn through by power lines and the meeting and contrast between the natural and technological, Samsuo sculpts a soundtrack to grey skies and the areas at the edge of industry that nature reclaims. Processed sounds and repetition have been time stretched, layered and blurred together, and the whilst the Lines Of Metal referenced in the title suggests something harsh, in this case, they are in the stillness of each piece, or perhaps the vibrations of cables in the wind.

Samsuo is the project of Sam Sibbald, utilising electronics, field recordings, and guitar alongside digital processing to create expansive drone and ambient music.

This starts off with a 30 minute track which is repetitive and monotonous but it gradually wears you down into a trance like state which is pretty cool.If you are familiar with Haikai no Ku then this is similar but more drawn out and other influences creep in,at times it reminded me of Skullflower.Overall this is awesome.
