A joyous barrage of refuse themed riffage from Black Shape.
With the lumbering weight of a runaway bin lorry, Black Shape rumble their way through eleven tracks of bin themed absurdity, utilising their knack for writing material that is as colossally heavy as it is varied and comedic. Shifting from down tuned dirge to galloping noise rock, to thrash; as well as free improv, choral and spoken storytelling elements, the duo commit to doing exactly what they want and doing it with virtuosic skill, whilst keeping their tongues firmly in their cheeks.
Despite its sonic variation, and not just because of its ‘rubbish’ theme, Bins remains consistently heavy throughout, and in a way that underlines the cathartic joy of this stuff. These are personally informed stories writ large and with suitably overblown sounds to match, you find yourself chuckling along as much as you are nodding your head.
